Beyond the Concert Hall: Kate Romano

The Vancouver Recital Society's Founder & Artistic Director, Leila Getz, speaks to Kate Romano, CEO of the Stapleford Granary, a beautiful arts, culture and education facility in Cambridge, UK. Leila and Kate discuss the VRS's recent collaboration with the Stapleford Granary and Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) in which the three organizations partnered to produce a set of Virtually VRS online performances with young musicians. They explore how the Granary has been coped with the pandemic, and what it was like to film and organize concerts in the midst of the UK lockdown. Kate and Leila also chat about Kate's background as a clarinetist, academic, and producer, and what the future of classical music might look like as the world begins to open up again.
