ATLANTA FALCONS vs NEW ORLEANS SAINTS LIVE | Monday Night Football, October 5, 2026. Join Football Nation for live play by play, scoreboard, stats and reaction from New Orleans. Kickoff is 8:15 PM ET / 7:15 PM CT. An NFC South rivalry closes Week 4 with two very different offensive approaches.
THE SETUP
Atlanta broke through with a 35 to 14 Thursday win at Green Bay. New Orleans lost 35 to 27 to Las Vegas in Week 3. The Falcons' season scoring average is still only 17.0 points per game, so one breakout performance does not settle every question. The Saints have scored 27.0 per game and gained 382.7 yards per game. Which version of Atlanta arrives in the Superdome, and can the Saints stay efficient when the Falcons take away the ground game?
ATLANTA'S RUN GAME
The Falcons run on 54.7% of snaps, most in the league, and average 173.0 rushing yards per game, second. New Orleans has allowed 128.7 rushing yards per game and 4.7 per carry. Watch Bijan Robinson and the blocking on first down. If Atlanta controls the pace with productive runs, it can keep the Saints' passing game on the sideline and make play action more dangerous. Atlanta's 80.0% red zone touchdown rate has been excellent, but it converts only 34.3% of third downs. That combination means the Falcons must avoid the stalled drives that have held their overall scoring down.
NEW ORLEANS THROUGH THE AIR
The Saints throw 44.0 passes per game, the most in the NFL through three weeks. They average 281.3 passing yards and convert 53.2% of third downs. Atlanta's defense has allowed only 47.7 rushing yards per game, the league's lowest mark, so New Orleans may need its passing game from the start. The Falcons have allowed 263.0 passing yards per game but have held opposing passers to 57.7% completions. That is the tension: the Saints can pile up attempts and yards, but can Atlanta force enough misses and long third downs to get off the field? New Orleans has scored touchdowns on 81.8% of red zone trips.
THE TURNOVER QUESTION
Atlanta has run the ball well but thrown interceptions on 7.59% of pass attempts in the small three game sample. The Saints may be able to steal a possession if they put the Falcons behind schedule. Conversely, New Orleans' pass volume gives Atlanta many chances to pressure the quarterback and change field position. We will monitor the final starting lineup and injury report before kickoff rather than assume last week's availability carries over.
WHAT WE WILL TRACK LIVE
Run success, pass protection, third down calls, red zone finishes, turnovers and the effect of crowd noise. Is this a repeat of Atlanta's Week 3 breakthrough or a night when the Saints' passing volume overwhelms the visitors? Join the chat with your score prediction and fantasy questions.
