MIX 811 is built around improvisation — not in the jazz sense of playing instruments live, but in the DJ sense of listening, reacting, and letting one track suggest the next. Felipe Gordon, Inkswel, Miguel Migs, Sebb Junior, Byron the Aquarius, Tuccillo and the rest move through different shades of deep house, but the real subject of the mix is the space between them: how rhythm changes when one groove is allowed to answer another. That is probably the part of DJing I still find most interesting. You can prepare hundreds of tracks, know the music, understand structure and timing, but once the mix begins there is still an unknown element. Sometimes a transition works because of harmony, sometimes because of drums, sometimes because two completely different records simply share the same internal movement. Learning house music is partly learning to recognize those invisible connections — the swing, repetition, silence, bass and tiny rhythmic decisions that make a groove feel alive. Perfect jazz probably does not exist, because perfection would remove the reason to improvise. *Soul, however, always exists.* It can appear inside jazz, deep house, a vocal, a drum loop, or even one imperfect transition that suddenly feels completely right. MIX 811 is my attempt to stay inside that space for an hour — deep, soulful, slightly cosmic, and open enough for the music to decide where the next orbit begins. https://andriikovb-shop.fourthwall.co...
