What happens when you’ve built the life you thought you wanted—but it doesn’t feel like yours anymore?
In this episode of In-House Retreat, Michael Glatts sits down with leadership coach, speaker, author, and entrepreneur Dylan Bost for an honest conversation about success, business collapse, sobriety, family, and rebuilding a life from the inside out.
From the outside, Dylan had all the signs of success: a thriving creative agency, great clients, a beautiful family, and a life that seemed to be working.
Internally, something was very different.
As his business began to unravel, financial pressure, drinking, uncertainty, and avoidance left Dylan feeling increasingly trapped. Looking back, he realized one of the hardest parts wasn’t what happened—it was finally making the decision to face what he’d been avoiding.
Michael and Dylan explore what happened next: getting sober, finding stillness, reconnecting with himself and his family, and realizing that wanting more out of life didn’t have to mean accumulating more money, success, or stuff.
That shift eventually influenced how Dylan built Sunny HQ—creating a business around the life he wanted to live rather than building his life around the business.
They also discuss Dylan’s book, The Seven Mirrors, and how our relationships, challenges, and experiences can reveal patterns within ourselves that we might otherwise never see.
In this episode:
• Why external success can still feel empty
• What Dylan learned from watching his business unravel
• How avoidance can make difficult decisions even harder
• The role sobriety and stillness played in his transformation
• How to want more without simply chasing more
• Why Dylan built Sunny HQ differently the second time around
• The meaning behind The Seven Mirrors
• How self-awareness can help break old patterns
• What it means to build a life that’s actually aligned with what matters to you
Sometimes having everything fall apart forces you to finally ask whether you were building the right thing in the first place.
Michael and Dylan explore what can happen when you stop avoiding that question, face what’s in front of you, and intentionally decide what you want to build next.
