Capacity Catalyst: Scaling the Community Land Trust Model Across the Bay Area

The community land trust model works. But too many emerging land trusts hit the same wall: real estate development, asset management, legal structuring, and finance take expertise most young organizations haven't had time to build yet. San Francisco Community Land Trust's Capacity Catalyst program closes that gap. Peer learning, technical assistance, and direct staff support flow to newer land trusts across the region, so organizations like Richmond Land don't have to rebuild decades of institutional knowledge from scratch. Every land trust that gains capacity through this program means another neighborhood can take housing off the speculative market and keep it affordable, permanently. The bottleneck right now is financing and technical capacity at scale, and that's exactly where this investment compounds.
