MODULE 01_Introduction to Nritta: Tatkar in Trital & Padhant

This is the introductory lesson to Nritta or abstract dance in the Kathak style. Taal is defined. Tritaal is taken as the anchoring Taal. All the technical details discussed are elucidated through Tritaal. Students hear the recitation of Tritaal accompanied with the beats and claps and learn how to recognize the music on the Nagma and the Tabla. They learn how recite or do Padhant of Tritaal. In the second part of the lesson the students learn how to do footwork or Tatkar in Tritaal in the three basic tempos. The method of using the feet, eyes and hands while doing footwork are discussed in detail.
