Taking my 2007 Mazda MX-5 Miata NC1 around Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas, during SCCA Track Night in America on October 25, 2026. This is Session 3 in the Novice Group on the 2.7-mile long course. This session was definitely a learning experience. After improving my lap times during the first two sessions, I experienced three loss-of-control incidents, including a 180-degree spin and two off-track excursions. Track days are about learning, improving car control, and understanding the limits of both the driver and the car.
