The Real Jesus or “Another Jesus”? Rediscovering the Biblical Messiah | J. Dan Gill

Are we becoming like the real Jesus—or reshaping him to fit our beliefs? Romans 8:29 says God wants us to be conformed to the image of His Son. Knowing who Jesus truly is matters for how we follow him. In this Bible teaching, J. Dan Gill examines Paul’s warning about “another Jesus” and challenges ideas about Christ shaped by Greek philosophy and later religious traditions. He calls us back to the Jewish Messiah of Scripture: God’s human Son, filled with God’s Spirit, who leads us to the Father. Explore these important questions: • How can we become like Jesus if we misunderstand his identity? • Does God dwelling in Jesus make Jesus God? • How did later ideas about incarnation reshape people’s understanding of Christ? • What did Jesus teach about the one God? • Why must following Jesus include believing and obeying his words? Key Scriptures: Romans 8:29; Acts 7:55–56; Luke 4:1; Mark 12:29; 2 Corinthians 11:4; Galatians 1:15–16; John 14:6; John 8:28; John 12:47–49.
