Jón Leifs - Icelandic Folk Dances (I-II)

These four icelandic folk dances were arranged for orchestra by Leifs and Leopold Weninger, and follow the typical scheme of rímur poetry: AA-BB-A-CC-B-A(A). The structure here is perfectly tonal, a rare feature among Leifs's works! 1st part Performed by Iceland Symphony Orchestra Conductor: Osmo Vänskä
