Episode 7 of a study drama for passing Scrum.org's PSM I (Professional Scrum Master I) on your own. A bug hits production in the booking screen the shops have just started using. Ola is furious that the testing was crammed in at the end, Aga snaps back that finding bugs is QA's job, and the boss wants a separate testing team. In the Scrum Guide that Zosia reads with coach Magda, there's no tester role anywhere. So whose job is quality? And when Yula steps in between them, Ola gives her a very big hug... In this episode: Developers are the people committed to creating any aspect of a usable Increment each Sprint, whatever their specialty; the Developers are accountable for instilling quality by adhering to a Definition of Done, and the Sprint Backlog is a plan by and for the Developers; Scrum Teams are cross-functional with no sub-teams, and quality does not decrease during the Sprint (scope is what gets negotiated). Five practice questions at the end. 0:00 Opening: a bug in production 0:34 Opening: meet the team 1:27 Drama: the big fight 2:48 Who are the Developers? 3:43 Quality through the Definition of Done 4:30 Drama: a silent afternoon 5:21 The Sprint Backlog belongs to the Developers 6:20 A cross-functional team 6:58 Quality does not decrease 7:58 Common myths 8:44 Drama: quality is everyone's 9:46 Practice questions (5) 12:22 Recap and next time Quoted: The Scrum Guide (2020) © Ken Schwaber & Jeff Sutherland, CC BY-SA 4.0.
