Bikepacking Cortes Island – Part 2 | Hike-a-Bike & Under-Hiking Part 2 of my bikepacking adventure across Cortes Island, BC — and this is where the adventure gets a little more interesting. What looked like rideable trails on the map quickly turned into some serious hike-a-bike. With a fully loaded bikepacking rig, there were sections where I was pushing, carrying, climbing over obstacles and even under-hiking — squeezing myself and the loaded bike underneath fallen trees. It wasn’t always easy, but that’s part of exploring unfamiliar trails by bike. Between the tough sections were beautiful forests, huge trees, great riding and some incredible Cortes Island scenery. Sometimes bikepacking means riding your bike.
