Laura Fruggeri talks with Gail Simon about her life and influences. Professor Laura Fruggeri speaks about her life growing up, her political and professional influences and how the two became mutually influencing. She came into psychotherapy at a critical moment when the Italian psychiatric hospitals were being dismantled. Here was an opportunity to depathologise individuals. She joined with some of the systemic pioneers who focused on family systems as ways of explaining and helping symptoms appearing in a single family member.
