While visiting suburban Philly, this property often comes up in my hotel search. It's generally priced very reasonably (in this case, around $70) and the reviews didn't look terrifying. My first stay here was... not great. But it was decent enough that when it came up again, I decided I'd give it another try and film a review this time. Thankfully my room was quite a bit better on this stay. Overall, it falls short of what I'd expect from the Hyatt House brand. But it's good enough to justify the low rates, if that makes sense.
This property is clearly an old Summerfield Suites location, which became part of Hyatt House in 2012. There are very few properties of this style (individual buildings and exterior entrances) still franchised under Hyatt. Most have been down-converted to other brands or even turned into apartments. Based on the conditions and rates here, I wouldn't be surprised to see this property meet the same fate in the future. But it's very cool and unique. I have a soft spot for old school extended stay properties.
Here's a location by me that was converted into an apartment complex, after first being down-converted to a Sonesta ES: https://maps.app.goo.gl/GK6TP6sKFRSrR...
