In this video, I walk through and break down the production and mix decisions for the song "Payroll" by Davey Melton from the initial demo to the recording as well as the analog mix bus chain. "Payroll" is a laid back singer/songwriter, modern folk vibe and we set out to produce a track that served the song as well as give him a track that could be listened to by decision makers at live performance venues and sound like it could still be performed well in a live setting with minimal production or instrumentation.
