ACT & Haven Fund on Building Power in African Immigrant Communities

In the video, ACT Executive Director Amaha Kassa and ACT member Aminata Chabi-Leke discuss ACT’s work as an organization of, by, and for immigrants from Africa and their families, and why building power within African immigrant communities is more important than ever. They highlight how ACT has expanded access to interpretation and translation through Afrilingual, now supporting interpretation in 20+ African languages, as well as our Know Your Rights work, legal advocacy, and organizing. The video also looks at some of ACT’s recent victories, including our work defending the Diversity Visa program and our role in a lawsuit that halted arrests at immigration courts.
