A Little Harvest of Japanese Citrus & Feijoa

Here’s what can happen to citrus fruit in marginal climates when a storm hits (Austen in this case) while the fruit is ripening/hanging on the tree. Yuzu has huge thorns, so the fruit can get pricked and badly bruised during a storm. That’s exactly what happened to some of mine this year, but thankfully most of the fruit are still in great shape on the tree. Leaf loss is unfortunately quite common during storms as well…
