Elvis Presley - Spinout - From First Take to the Master

The title track to Elvis' 1966 movie "Spinout" is probably one of the best in the movie, and combines a groovy fast paced sixties melody with clever lyrics, and makes analogies between a woman and a race car. Despite being the title song, it was heard about halfway through the movie instead of over the opening credits. This involved Elvis in a situation which became the almost stereotypical view of him in a Hollywood movie - that is singing whilst surrounded by a considerable amount of pretty girls! It was the second song recorded on 17 February, Elvis and the band had the master wrapped up pretty quickly, as the fifth and final take was chosen to be the RCA master. As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
