A Calif. Zephyr in Ft. Morgan on 29SEPT2026

This morning's California Zephyr #5 rolled into Fort Morgan at 0609MDT (24 min. late). The power was provided by P42s #81 & #146. They brought the 8-car train to a single spot - 2 car stop with passengers detraining from car 3 (sleeper) and 1 new fare boarding car 7 (coach). I was also donated a cup of coffee from friend Ken at the sightseer/lounge car door this morning. Thanks, Ken! With the station work safely completed at both cars, Allie gave the departure cue and on a clear signal, the Zephyr continued its run to Emeryville, CA with the next stop being Union Station in Denver. There were 2 Phase VII cars in today's consist. The baggage car and car 7 (standard coach). My thanks to the operating crew for the greetings today. And to the Air Force retiree there to meet the travelers from the sleeper. I best not forget Ken in the sightseer/lounge canteen! Everyone please stay safe! Temp: 57 F. feels like 57 F.
