RE-ANIMATOR (1985) Movie Review | Maniacal Cinephile

The Maniacal Cinephile reviews the horror comedy Re-Animator (1985), directed by Stuart Gordon! In this review, we analyze one of the most iconic horror films of the 80s, adapted from H.P. Lovecraft’s classic tale. From its over-the-top practical effects to Jeffrey Combs' unforgettable performance as Herbert West, we explore what makes this cult classic a must-see. Herbert West is a medical student who has invented a reagent serum that results in reanimation. Herbert and his classmate Dan Cain (Bruce Abbott) begin to test the serum, but Dr. Carl Hill (David Gale), who is infatuated with Cain's girlfriend Megan (Barbara Crampton), wants to claim the invention as his own.
