De Profundis (Psalm 130) in Latin | 3 hours of penitential chant for prayer and rest

De Profundis in Latin — the whole Psalm 130 sung by a choir, in Latin, for three hours without a break. "De profundis clamavi ad te, Domine" — out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord. It is the sixth of the penitential psalms: the prayer of the one who speaks from the bottom and asks for mercy, sung in the Church for centuries. Here it is not read: it is sung, slowly, in the Latin of the Vulgate, and then sung again, so the words stay in the room while you pray or rest. The Latin text is the Vulgata Clementina (Psalm 129 in the Vulgate numbering, 8 verses), public domain, sung as it was written to be sung. Music and artwork produced for this channel. No narration, no percussion, no sudden turns, no interruption. Made to play while you sleep, work or pray. Leave it running: the next pieces are variations on the same quiet place.
