SHALIMAR EXPRESS IS BACK! 🇵🇰 | Independence Day Relaunch | Karachi to Lahore Full Journey

After a period of suspension, Pakistan Railways has finally restored the Shalimar Express — and what made its return even more special was the choice of Pakistan’s Independence Day, 14th August, for its maiden journey back to Lahore. The Shalimar Express was suspended after a bridge collapsed on its original route via Faisalabad, making the previous route unusable. With its restoration, the train now takes a diverted route to Lahore via Sahiwal on ML-1, giving passengers a new journey experience. But there was another major development with the restoration: Sadiqabad has been added as a permanent stop for Shalimar Express. The train received an extraordinary welcome when it made its first-ever entry into Sadiqabad on the restored service. Residents came out in large numbers to celebrate, with music, bouquets, sweets, and garlandspresented to the train management. It was a truly memorable and emotional welcome for the return of this iconic train. And I had the privilege of being the only YouTuber from Karachi travelling aboard Shalimar Express on Independence Day, covering its maiden restored journey all the way from Karachi to Lahore.
