Why I'm Worried About Canelo Against Christian Mbili (Pre Fight Ramble) - 10/29/26

Pre fight ramble on some of my concerns about Canelo Alvarez against Christian Mbili in their upcoming fight this Saturday. This is clearly no longer the same Canelo going up against an extremely aggressive and durable fighter in his absolute prime. To me this isn't a fight i can pick right now - we don't know what version of Canelo we're going to get, but at the same time i think the best version is very capable of winning a perfectly convincing decision. To me the ultimate deciding factor in this fight will be if Canelo is able to actually back Mbili up with his power and more specifically his body punching. If Mbili is able to walk Canelo down for the duration we could see Canelo dropped for the first time. What do you think about this matchup? Will Canelo's ringcraft and counterpunching be enough?
