The Vaccines: Riverside Cafe, Trains in Demos and Second Album Jitters

Locked away, perfecting songs while real trains bled onto the demos. Then the door opened and everything changed. In this candid sit-down, The Vaccines revisit the tiny room where they spent six months chasing the perfect sound, why they joked about a Christmas record to dodge the dreaded second album worries, and how recording next to The xx shaped the studio atmosphere. They take us to Riverside Cafe, the family-run spot that fed the band, hosted their first NME photoshoot, and even became the place they met their label and producer. From 50s overcoats in a Fulham vintage shop to aligning visuals with music, to 16 flights in 10 days, to the rush of Tea in the Park and Reading & Leeds, the band unpacks the grind behind the glory. And when fans ask about what’s next, their answer hints at pop with something to say. Watch to hear the stories they don’t usually tell, and feel the moments that made the songs worth the wait. #TheVaccines #IndieRock #BandInterview #RiversideCafe #NME #ReadingAndLeeds #TeaInThePark
