Ekurhuleni: Boitumelo Mashita was on her way to work in Temong, Tembisa, early on Monday morning, September 28, 2026, when an unknown gunman allegedly approached her and shot her three times. Her family believes Boitumelo was deliberately targeted and has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding her murder. They have also spoken about allegations of an abusive marriage, although police have not publicly confirmed those allegations as a motive for the killing. Boitumelo's murder comes amid growing concern over the number of women found dead in Ekurhuleni in recent months.
