🖤💚 More than 1,000 of you are here now! Thank you, truly, for listening closely and helping Lorephonic grow beyond anything we expected. Each time you returned to an album or shared a song, you helped make this possible!
80s GOTH MUSIC 3 is our largest gothic collection yet: 22 tracks and 1 hour 40 minutes, or just over 100 minutes, of music from an alternate England, 1981-1988. (With one from an alternate US)
Some songs strike outward. “Break the Pale Parade” turns enforced order into a public dance. “Mother of Nobody Here” refuses ceremonial praise when equality is withheld. “After We Won” asks what victory becomes when revenge begins to resemble cruelty.
Others move closer. “Give Me Something to Hate” finds a separation made harder by tenderness. “You Sang My Song Better” forces a songwriter to hear the truth he removed. “Your Face Obeyed My Praise” transforms admiration into a frightening form of control.
The strangest pieces treat impossible premises with complete seriousness. “He Sewed My Enemy to My Side,” “Teethmarks,” and “My Sister Sees the Bones” make intimacy inseparable from bodily dread. “Dead Serious” eventually lets the entire gathering dance.
At 100 minutes, this album was made for exploration. Begin at track one or follow whichever title catches you. Move through it at your own pace. We are confident you will find something here that stays with you.

Lorephonic imagines music from cultural histories that never occurred: lost artists, alternate scenes, songs from elsewhere.
Credits: lyrics by humans; generative technology involved in arrangement and instrumentation.
Thank you for taking this strange project seriously. Surpassing 1,000 subscribers felt improbable, and you made it real.
