MacBook Pro M6: $1,999, 24-hour battery, and why AI made your Mac $400 pricier

Apple announced the 14-inch MacBook Pro with M6 on Tuesday, Oct 27, 2026: 12-core CPU, 12-core GPU with a Neural Accelerator in every core, dual 16-core Neural Engine, 16–32GB of unified memory, up to 24 hours of battery, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, $1,999, pre-orders Oct 28, in stores Nov 6. Same price as the M5 model it replaces — but that M5 launched at $1,599 a year ago. In this video: what's new in the M6, the numbers behind Apple's claims, how the June 2026 memory-driven price increase got us to $1,999, what didn't change (no touch, no OLED), and what's expected at Apple's Los Angeles "launch experience" on Wednesday.
