Have you ever been told you're "too sensitive," "overthinking," or making something out of nothing? But what if your reaction isn't actually the problem? What if you're responding to mixed messages—when someone's words say one thing, their behavior says another, and you're left trying to figure out what's real? In this episode, I'm getting curious about that space between what someone says and what they actually do. Because when the messages don't match, it can leave us questioning ourselves: Am I imagining this? Am I asking for too much? Am I just being triggered? Sometimes our nervous systems aren't reacting to a single moment. They're responding to a pattern of inconsistency, disconnection, criticism, affection followed by withdrawal, or words that don't line up with behavior. And that raises a really important question: What if I'm not too sensitive? What if I'm responding to something that genuinely feels confusing or unsafe? This isn't about assuming someone else is always wrong—or assuming our reactions are always right. It's about becoming curious enough to separate our old wounds from what is actually happening in the present. Because maybe emotional fitness isn't about learning to tolerate more. Maybe sometimes it's about learning to trust ourselves enough to notice when something simply doesn't add up. Real conversations about life's messiness. Because none of us gets it right all the time.
