Odin Gave His Eye for One Drink | The Myth Never Says What He Saw

Odin did not lose his eye in battle. He gave it away for a single drink from Mímir's well. But the oldest sources tell this story in just a few lines, and they leave out what he learned. In this video we follow what the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda actually say: the strange image of Mímir drinking from Odin's eye, the god who may have left his hearing in the same well, Odin's nine nights on the tree, and what the seeress tells Odin right after she reveals his secret. #norsemythology #odin #mythology #yggdrasill #vikings #mimir #voluspa #vikingmythology #norsegods #odinTheAllFather #ragnarok #vikinglegends #sacrifice
