J. S. Bach (1685–1750) Sonata in G minor, BWV 1029 Originally for viola da gamba and obbligato harpsichord 0:00 I. Vivace 4:56 II. Adagio 10:08 III. Allegro Alexander Gebert, violoncello Janne Rättyä, accordion Recorded in 2025 at Marienmünster Alexander Gebert plays a cello by Julia Jostes & Simon Eberl, 2019 About the music BWV 1029 is the third of Bach's three sonatas for viola da gamba and obbligato harpsichord (BWV 1027–1029), probably written in Leipzig in the late 1730s or early 1740s. Unlike the other two, which have four movements, it has three, in the fast–slow–fast order of a concerto. The middle Adagio is in B-flat major. Here the keyboard part is played on the accordion.
