Sorbas, pintoresco pueblo andaluz de origen árabe, asentado en un alto rocoso rodeado por un profundo desfiladero por el que discurre el río de Aguas al que se asoman sus casas colgadas a semejanza de la Ciudad de Cuenca en Castilla la Mancha. se encuentra el precioso pueblo de Sorbas. Su término “Sorbas” procede del árabe y se cree que significa “olla de arena”, posiblemente relacionado con las vasijas de arcilla refractaria que ya en esa época se construían en la zona. Los árabes fueron los primeros en instalarse de forma permanente en estas tierras y su huella ha pervivido a lo largo de los siglos. En el barrio de las Alfarerías, de visita obligada para el viajero, situado en la parte baja del pueblo , se encuentran los talleres artesanales de cerámica.
