Which Coin Casting Method Works Better? - Steel Mold VS Sand Mold

I've been casting aluminum and copper coins lately and I wanted to see which method of casting the coins works the best. I carved a few designs into a steel plate and used a circular pipe for the steel coin mold. I then modeled the same coins and 3D printed them for sand casting.
