R43-million dairy farm project in Mantusini fails to deliver on land reform promise

In 2016, the Eastern Cape government invested R43 million to establish a dairy farm in Mantusini village near Port St. John’s. The project was meant to uplift the community through land reform, aligning with the Freedom Charter’s vision that “the land shall belong to those who work it.” Eyewitness News visited the farm and spoke to one of the former workers, who shared how the project collapsed, leaving workers and the community disappointed.
