Marvel’s Wolverine Gameplay Looks HORRIBLE! I’m Even More Concerned Than I Was Before

The Wolverine has been one of the most anticipated PS5 games for years, but after seeing more gameplay, I’m starting to wonder if this game is shaping up to be a disappointment. The recent Sentinel boss gameplay especially raised some serious concerns. At times, it looks less like the brutal Wolverine experience we were promised and more like a Ben 10 mission. The gameplay shown so far also appears slow, janky, and extremely repetitive, which is concerning for a game that’s supposed to carry an iconic character like Wolverine. And then there’s the story. Jean Grey being heavily involved while the X-Men themselves seemingly aren’t even present raises even more questions about where this game is actually going. Sure, the cutscenes look incredible, and there’s no denying that Insomniac knows how to make these characters look great. But cool cinematics can only carry a game so far. If the core gameplay loop ends up being repetitive and the combat doesn’t feel as good as it should, that could be a major problem. There’s also been plenty of controversy surrounding the involvement of Sweet Baby Inc., which has added another layer to the discussion surrounding the game. Now, to be fair, Wolverine hasn’t released yet. There’s still plenty of time for the final product to surprise us and completely change this conversation. But based on everything that has been showcased so far, I’m definitely more concerned than I was before. What do YOU think? Are these gameplay showcases making you more excited for Wolverine, or are you starting to have doubts?
