Building Unity: The Bahá’í Approach to Marriage as a Partnership.

Talk given by Ms. Sima Ghodrati on July 4, 2026 Born in Iran, Ms. Sima Ghodrati was forced to flee her country as a youth after facing religious persecution for her independent decision to join the Baha'i community, Iran's largest religious minority. Her experience as a refugee in 1986 shaped her approach to life, work, and community engagement. Upon arriving in Canada in the spring of 1987, she began her studies in Fashion Design. Later, a psychology course at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) sparked a love of learning that led her to SUNY Syracuse, where she earned an Associate of Science degree and a Dental Hygiene diploma in 2001. Years later, she continued her journey of discovery at the University of Toronto, studying life coaching and Applied Mindfulness Meditation. She also received certification in Inner Peace Therapy, a program based in Norway offering both online and in-person 12-day workshops, which she organized and attended many times. Today, she practices as a life coach, supporting individuals in their noble journey toward personal transformation. She believes that everything in life is created to undergo a noble transformation, and holds firm to the conviction that nothing is impossible when one embraces the art of learning and discovers the power of love within.
