But that wasn’t the end of the negotiation. In Part 2 of our Indiana sports card warehouse hunt, we sit back down with Dan and Keith and try to close one of the biggest collection deals we’ve made this year. Their warehouse is packed with millions of sports cards, hundreds of sealed boxes, vintage and modern wax, Starting Lineups, Michael Jordan-era basketball, unopened product and decades of collecting. After some back-and-forth, we finally make a deal: $85,000 for the collection. And then the REAL work starts. Two weeks later, we return to Indiana with a 26-foot U-Haul and a crew to figure out how to pack an entire sports card warehouse into one truck. What follows is 10+ hours of digging, sorting, hauling boxes and discovering cards we never even saw during the original negotiation. We find sealed wax from some incredible years, early ’90s basketball, Michael Jordan products, autographs, vintage collectibles, thousands of Starting Lineups and boxes that haven’t been properly searched in years. Buying the collection was only step one. Step two is getting it home. Step three is figuring out how to sell all of it.
