The MaliBu-Bu's "Caravan" (CRH) 1962

Rip-roaring Rock 'n' Roll-Surf-Exotica gear from Los Angeles, or thereabouts. Well, Malibu to be precise, one would presume. A fun cover version, very much of its time, and a one-off for both artist and label. Further info? Not a lot. The flipside, "Pigtails," was penned by Tommy Coe, which doesn't offer much in the way of clues as to who the band was. Coe himself led a fairly cruddy Teener-type song for Pep Records with the DeVille Sisters a few years prior; but that release - his first, I think - only confirms that he was better off sticking to songwriting. Which he did. His name can be found on a wad of releases from 1957 to the early 1970s, some of them ny reasonably well-known artists (e.g., Frank Ifield, The Standells and Hank Cochran), though most were also-rans consigned to the cut-out bins of record history.
