GS Geography: Forces on winds

There are fundamentally 3 forces: 1. Pressure Gradient force 2. Friction force 3. Coriolis force Conditions in upper troposphere are different. The condition of balance is called geostrophic balance. The same type of balance in cyclones and anti-cyclones with centripetal forces create gradient winds.
