Candle Void - Candle Void (2025) [Dungeon Synth]

Today we have German dungeon synth artist Candle Void and her self-titled record which released just over a year ago. Candle Void is a side project of prolific death metal artist Vanessa Funke, and coincidentally this makes four features in a row from German artists. This record is beautifully composed and arranged, and gives a highly cinematic atmosphere akin to a film score. It's very easy to get lost in the music and to imagine what the songs could be portraying. I loved this so much, I even caught myself audibly saying "wow" a few times, as cliche as it sounds. Every instrument comes in exactly when it needs to and everything together is arranged perfectly. What a brilliant debut from Candle Void!
