I came to Mbale City in Eastern Uganda for National Tourism Day, but unfortunately, I arrived after the main event had already ended. Instead of turning back, I decided to explore Mbale and document what was still there — the city's development, beautiful surroundings, nature, streets, infrastructure and everyday life.
In this video, I take you through Mbale City as I experienced it, showcasing the changing face of one of Eastern Uganda's important urban centres. From the roads and buildings to the surrounding natural beauty and city atmosphere, this is a look at Mbale beyond a single tourism event.
Mbale is more than just a stopover in Eastern Uganda. It is a city surrounded by remarkable landscapes and natural attractions, with Mount Elgon and the wider Bugisu region adding to the area's tourism potential.
Although I missed National Tourism Day itself, the journey gave me an opportunity to see another side of Mbale — its development, urban life, environment, scenery and the beauty that makes Eastern Uganda worth exploring.
