How to Drain and Repressurize an RO Storage Tank | Part 3

In Part 3 of this six-part series, Abel from Cooper’s Water explains how to completely drain, repressurize, sanitize, and refill a reverse osmosis water storage tank. Follow along as Abel demonstrates how to: • Determine whether water remains in a slow-draining tank • Use an air pump to empty the tank fully • Check the tank pressure at the Schrader valve • Adjust the empty tank to approximately 8–10 PSI • Refill the tank with sanitizer flowing through the system • Sanitize the tank, water lines, and RO faucet • Slowly drain the tank to flush the system safely This maintenance process is especially important when a reverse osmosis system has not received its recommended annual service.
