Have you ever wondered why I started Psychology Pathways with Sweetling? 💚 In this video, I share the heart behind this platform, the challenges I noticed while preparing for the BPsych Equivalent / Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Psychological Counselling, and why I felt called to create a space that supports aspiring Student Registered Counsellors in South Africa. When I began my own journey, I realised that many prospective students struggled to find clear, reliable and practical information about becoming a Registered Counsellor. Many applicants felt overwhelmed by the application process, unsure of what to expect and uncertain about where to find trustworthy guidance. That experience inspired me to create Psychology Pathways with Sweetling, a platform dedicated to empowering aspiring Student Registered Counsellors through psychoeducation, practical guidance, emotional support and a sense of community. 🌿 On this channel, you can expect videos about: ✨ The Registered Counsellor profession in South Africa 🎓 The BPsych Equivalent / Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Psychological Counselling 📝 How to prepare a competitive application 🎤 Selection Week tips and interview preparation 📚 What to expect during the programme 💬 Interviews with current students, graduates and Registered Counsellors 🧠 Mental health, emotional wellbeing and self-care 💼 Career opportunities and professional development 📖 Practical resources to support you throughout your journey Whether you are still exploring psychology, preparing your application, or already studying towards becoming a Registered Counsellor, I hope this channel encourages you, equips you with practical knowledge and reminds you that you don't have to navigate this journey alone. This platform was developed as part of my Community Psychology Practicum Project at the South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP). The project aims to improve access to psychoeducation, promote emotional wellbeing and empower aspiring Student Registered Counsellors through accessible information, practical guidance and community support.
