I thought oversized clothes just didn't work on me. Then I noticed something while watching women who make oversized style look effortlessly cool: they weren't just wearing clothes one size too big. They were going BIG. So instead of buying a whole new oversized wardrobe, I went shopping in my own closet — and then in Jim's. 😂 His T-shirts, sweaters and even an old floppy belt gave me a completely different way to play with proportions. What surprised me most was how many of the styling ideas I've already discovered through the 3 Words Method worked in completely new ways once I stopped trying to make everything look traditionally “flattering.” Some of these outfits I loved. Some surprised me. And I already know some of you are going to say, “Gina, absolutely NOT!” That's part of the fun. I also share a story from my days working at Banana Republic that reminded me just how much our eyes adjust as fashion silhouettes change — and why I'm not interested in buying an entirely new wardrobe for a trend. Now I need your opinion: Which oversized outfit worked best? And on the outfit Jim and I disagreed about — tucked or untucked? Oversized-style inspiration: I first started thinking differently about oversized proportions after watching Rinko’s YouTube channel. Her styling inspired me to experiment with going much bigger using pieces I already owned (and a few things from Jim’s closet!).
