Meet those who served their country but then had nowhere to go

Many veterans say they have been forced to set up their own homeless camp on Salisbury Plain as they call on the Prime Minister for better support. Will Tullis met with some of those veterans living at the camp. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has told ITV News that all homeless veterans will be offered accommodation before Christmas. Burnham promised to personally write to all councils in England urging them to draw up the plans. The government is also allocating £8.7 million to eight organisations across the UK to provide housing and specialist support for veterans. Speaking to ITV News, Burnham said he would be asking councils to bring together a plan to ensure "that no veteran in your area will sleep rough because I know the money is in place to give an offer of accommodation to everybody. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@itvnews?lang=en Follow ITV News on Instagram:   / itvnews   Follow ITV News on Facebook:   / itvnews   Follow ITV News on X:   / itvnews
