Driving, Festive Windows, Ide Hill & Chiddingstone Kent, Dinner - Life Over 50 - VLOGMAS XMAS 2024

A drive to and through Ide Hill and Chiddingstone, in Kent, England, in a Rover 25. A meal in a pub. A view over the Weald of Kent and Bough Beach Reservoir. Almost running over some pheasants and almost getting splatted ourselves by a lorry. Since making this video I researched the old shop in Chiddingstone to see whether it's medieval, Tudor, or mock, and found it used to be owned (as part of a grand estate) Sir Thomas Bullen, father of the infamous Anne Boleyn (and her almost as well-known sister Mary). I am related to the Boleyns/Bullens via Anne's grandfather Sir Thomas Howard, and there's probably another link or two that I haven't discovered yet as the nobility and upper classes intermarried within the same familes for many years.
