Towards Universal Access to Water: A Story of Change in Machinga

For years, Margaret George and her daughter Anita began each day with long walks in search of water, never knowing if it would be safe for their family. Today, everything has changed. In Namikuwo Village, Machinga District, access to clean and safe water is transforming lives, restoring health, saving time, and creating new opportunities for families and communities. Through the Towards Universal Access to Potable Water Project, Amref Health Africa in Malawi is working with the Machinga and Zomba District Councils to improve access to clean and safe water for communities across the two districts.
