Experience the Bloor West Village Toronto Ukrainian Festival 2026 🇺🇦, one of Toronto’s biggest and most vibrant street festivals. In this walking tour, I take you through the heart of Bloor West Village to see the crowds, Ukrainian food, local restaurants, bars, shops, cultural displays, and the incredible atmosphere of the festival. I grew up in this area, so this festival has always been especially nostalgic for me. My family and I have been coming here since I was a kid, and in this video I share a little bit of that personal connection while showing you what the neighbourhood and festival are actually like today. Bloor West Village has deep ties to Toronto’s Ukrainian community. After the Second World War, Ukrainian immigrants settled in and around the area, helping shape the neighbourhood through local businesses, bakeries, delicatessens and cultural institutions. The Ukrainian presence became an important part of the identity of Bloor West Village and the surrounding west-end communities. The Bloor West Village Toronto Ukrainian Festival began in 1995, the same year Toronto and Kyiv became sister cities. What started as a much smaller community celebration, with roughly 3,000 participants according to City planning documents, grew into one of Toronto’s major cultural festivals and what organizers describe as North America’s largest Ukrainian street festival. In this video, we walk through the festival and check out everything from perogies, cabbage rolls, shishkabobs, Ukrainian baked goods and traditional Ukrainian food to vendors, Ukrainian clothing, local businesses and the energy of Bloor West Village during festival weekend. I also take you through some of the surrounding neighbourhood, showing restaurants, bars, shops and local businesses along Bloor Street West, while talking a little about what makes Bloor West Village such a unique part of Toronto. You’ll also see drone footage over Bloor West Village and Toronto, giving you a different perspective on the size of the festival, the surrounding residential neighbourhoods and the Toronto skyline.
