Deeksha is a sublime and sacred practice that must be approached with fervour, sincerity and intensity, rather than casually or mechanically. The initiated are expected to practise this sadhana regularly in the privacy of their homes, diving within with the strength of the initiation received. The Sadhana itself is powerful enough to lead a seeker towards the state attained by ascetics through rigorous spiritual practices. However, meditation alone is not sufficient for spiritual enlightenment. The mind's distractions return during everyday interactions. Worldly, scriptural and bodily desires (loka-vasana, shastra-vasana and deha-vasana) must therefore be overcome through discernment (viveka) and resolute intelligence (vyavasayatmika buddhi). Meditation can be a stabilizing factor, and an enlightening means. With the help of viveka and the experience gained in meditation, seekers must become sharp, alert and vibrant to take the right step every time during their interactive life.
