Portrait of Marjan Fahimi
Marjan Fahimi is a prizewinning Iranian painter born in Tehran. She currently lives and works in Rome. In her latest works Fahimi uses a more abstract approach, focusing on the main elements that characterize the poetics of the landscape. Painting with oil on wood, her works use solid natural hues to create calm, compelling compositions.
Naturalistic component
Marjan Fahimi from the age of 15 starts attending painting classes at the Hossein Maher Studio. He begins by exhibiting in the most important galleries of the Tehran art scene, then moving to Rome, obtaining a Master's Degree in Architecture and Urban Design. Nature is the protagonist of the artist's painting, with works all dedicated to heaven. A nature that in its vision is always in danger, when it relates to man, who often does not know how to be a worthy guardian.
Abstract and strongly expressive technique
Marjan Fahimi is linked to a very classical and traditional technical execution, preferring conventional supports and materials such as canvas, wood, charcoal, oil paint or acrylic tempera, approaching through these materials to a very personal abstract research. In his works the subjects are mainly landscapes, views that highlight the main atmospheric phenomena: air, wind, clouds, rain, water, light, earth.
Young talent growing
Marjan Fahimi has participated in numerous exhibitions and competitions. In 2007 he was among the finalists of the Martelive competition and won the LIArt prize, while in 2008 he was the absolute winner of the Martelive competition. In 2015 he made his first Italian solo exhibition at the Sala Orsini of the Palazzo Chigi.
