This video shares the remarkable testimony of Pastor Man Sing Tamang, the founding pastor of New Thessaloniki Church, Khaniyabas Rural Municipality–5, Dhading, Nepal.
Before coming to faith in Jesus Christ, Pastor Man Sing Tamang sought power through spiritism and witchcraft. He desired to become a powerful spiritual practitioner and was even willing to pay a large sum of money to learn these practices. However, his family lived in extreme poverty. Their financial situation was so difficult that they could not even afford 12 rupees to buy about half a kilogram of meat. During this same period, his second son became critically ill and was unable to drink milk for fifteen days.
Desperate to save his son, he sought help from many witch doctors and lamas. They claimed that his son was possessed by various evil spirits and performed numerous rituals, but despite every effort, the child's condition did not improve.
In the midst of this hopeless situation, he heard that Christians prayed for the sick and that people were being healed. Because Christians in the area were facing severe persecution, he secretly visited a Christian home at midnight. Although the believers were initially fearful because of the hostility surrounding them, they warmly welcomed him, shared the gospel of Jesus Christ, and prayed with him.
The following night, he brought his sick son to the same believers. They prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, and by God's grace, his son was completely healed. This miraculous event transformed his life and led him to place his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
His conversion, however, marked the beginning of intense persecution. The villagers violently opposed his new faith. He was beaten, driven out of his home, and forced to live in the jungle during the freezing winter. He endured hunger, hardship, rejection, and many forms of suffering simply because he chose to follow Christ. Yet through every trial, he remained steadfast in his faith, trusting that God would sustain him.
In time, God used him to establish New Thessaloniki Church, where he continues to serve faithfully as the founding pastor. The gospel for which he once suffered has now become the message he joyfully proclaims to others.
Perhaps the most powerful chapter of his testimony is his response to those who persecuted him. Rather than seeking revenge, he chose the path of Christ. He personally visited the homes of those who had beaten and rejected him—including some who were on their deathbeds—to forgive them and share the love of Jesus Christ. His life stands as a living testimony to the transforming power of the gospel, demonstrating that God's grace is greater than hatred, persecution, and suffering.
Today, Pastor Man Sing Tamang continues to faithfully serve Christ as a pastor, encouraging many through his testimony of faith, forgiveness, and the redeeming power of God's grace.
