Calif. Zephyr #5 in Ft. Morgan on 31AUG2026 Pt. 2 of 2

Part 2 of a twofer. Today's California Zephyr #5 arrived in Fort Morgan at 0559 MDT (15 min. late after a meet in Wray, CO. with the #6 train). P42s #163 &#139 provided the power to the 9-ar train which was stopped with car 8 to the east platform for service to 2 detraining travelers. Then 1 new west bound fare boarded the coach. With the station work safely completed the departure signal was given and on a clear signal the Zephyr continued its run west with the next stop being Union Station in Denver. My thanks to the operating crew for the greetings. And to the new fare and his driver for the conversation on the platform. There were 2 Phase VII sleepers in today's consist. Sleeper "Tennessee" & sleeper "Badlands". Everyone please stay safe! Temp: 58 F. feels like 58 F. Expected high: 86 F. Sunrise: 0621 MDT. Subset: 1928 MDT.
